2011 // Feature Documentary // 80min
In the summer of 2005, Zach, a 16-year-old boy from Memphis, Tennessee wrote on his MySpace blog that he had told his parents he was gay. Within days of his coming out, his mother and father would send him to Love In Action (LIA), a fundamentalist Christian program that refers to homosexuality as an addictive behavior.
This Is What Love In Action Looks like gained praise and national attention from CNN, Good Morning America, the New York Times and The Advocate for capturing the true story of a Memphis teen who was forced into a religious based “straight camp”intended to change his sexuality. The doc screened at over 40 festivals around the world and won the Derek Oyston CHE Film Award at the London LGBT Film Festival.
The film is distributed by TLA RELEASINGS.
